Whether to commute to work, do groceries, or meet up with friends, Brunswick locals are using their bikes to commute more than ever. It’s important to maintain your bike to keep rolling around town safely. An unnerving sound or a punctured tire means it’s time to take your bike in to get a service.
So, where do you go? With 10+ bike shops in Brunswick alone, there’s a shop to suit every bike and budget. With so many options, it can be hard to know where to start. After hopping from shop to shop, we have chosen the top 4 bike shops in Brunswick to get you going.
For sustainability, low price and super approachable staff, Radhaus and Bikes Please are both fantastic choices. If you’re after some advice on trails or a courtesy bike to get you through service day, Commuter Cycles is your place. If you need the electrical component of your e-bike fixed, Ray’s Bicycles has your back. Check out more details for each of these shops below

Benny is one of the extremely approachable experts at Radhaus. He has over 10 years of experience in the industry, and has been known to diagnose an issue with a bike just from the sound it makes over the phone.
Not only is Benny an expert in bikes, he recognises that bike shops can be intimidating and strives to make Radhaus as inclusive as possible. He’s an advocate for independence and empowers his customers with knowledge and resources to do small fixes on their bikes at home. For those of us who are a bit shy or who don’t know much about our bikes, an empathetic and non-judgemental bike guy will be here to help. Benny also explicitly told me that he wants Radhaus to be approachable for women and LGBTQ people.
Radhaus specialises in sustainability and will help customers with custom builds made from second hand parts with enthusiasm. The crew will be able to fix up and service most bikes (road, mountain, fixies, vintage bikes etc.) and can always refer to other local stores where something is beyond their scope.

Come say hi to Adam at Commuter Cycles. Photo: author
Commuter Cycles will service most bikes, but they are especially knowledgeable when it comes to trail bikes. If you’re thinking about extending your riding from commuting into trail riding or mountain biking, this is the place to go. The crew at Commuter Cycles say that most people are surprised at what their bike can do!
As with some of the other places named here, Commuter Cycles don’t have a fixed rate for general services. Instead, they will assess each bike and give an approximate quote on the day that you come in. At this time of year they are booked out around a month in advance due to high demand, however, they can usually take a walk-in for a punctured tyre.
Once a service is booked in, the bike should be ready that same day. In the meantime, Commuter Cycles also provides free courtesy bikes for customers on the day of the service. They also sell a large range of accessories at the store.

#4: Ray’s Bicycles Brunswick
108-110 Sydney rd, 3056 – Best for e-bikes and accessories
Puncture repair: $25 + parts
Service: $75-$170
Rays on Sydney Road. Photo: author
Housed in what was once an old butcher on Sydney Rd, Ray’s Bikes is one of the oldest bike shops in Brunswick. Whilst Mike the mechanic will fix up pretty much anything, his ability to convert or service e-bikes differentiates Ray’s from other bike shops in the area. Whilst the other shops on this list can fix up mechanical elements of an e-bike, for electrical repair, Mike is your man. In terms of pricing, Rays have three tiers of servicing based on your needs to make things simple. Parts are not included in the price.
Rays also has a huge range of bikes and accessories available in the store.
